Tasks

Teaching

Qualifications

Education and Certification

Applicants must meet one of the following eligibility criteria:

Hold a Ph.D. awarded after January 1, 2024, OR
Be ABD (All But Dissertation), having completed at least 50% of the doctoral dissertation at the time of application.

Additionally:

All degree requirements, including successful dissertation defense and formal filing, must be completed by June 15, 2026.
Candidates with doctorates in Education or Law (Jurisprudence) are not eligible.
Applicants who received a Ph.D. from Princeton University are not eligible.
Each candidate may apply only once to the Princeton Society of Fellows.

Experience

While the fellowship is aimed at early-career scholars, applicants are evaluated on:

Exceptional academic achievement and demonstrated originality in research.
Evidence of teaching excellence and potential to contribute meaningfully to undergraduate education.
Interdisciplinary engagement, as demonstrated through the ability to communicate ideas across disciplinary boundaries.
