Consultant – Cloud/Network Security Job Overview

UNRWA is seeking a Consultant – Cloud/Network Security to enhance its cybersecurity operations for Azure cloud services. This consultancy position offers an exciting opportunity to work remotely and contribute to global security solutions. The role involves collaboration with developers, implementation of advanced security measures, and creating robust frameworks for cloud-native development.

Expected Duration: 6 to 11 months, with the possibility of extension based on performance and funding availability.
Duty Station: Remote (with HQ in Gaza).

Duties and Responsibilities

As a Cloud/Network Security Consultant, your main tasks will include:

• Cloud Security Recommendations: Collaborating with technologists and architects to make security recommendations for cloud-native development.
• Security Measures Implementation: Implementing and optimizing security measures on Azure cloud platforms.
• Automation: Scripting and automating security processes using Azure services.
• Client Communication: Discussing security needs and providing updates on new security measures with clients.
• Networking and Virtualization: Using advanced networking and virtualization technologies to enhance cybersecurity.
• Security Systems Creation: Developing security systems for cloud and hybrid environments.

Minimum Qualifications

• Educational Requirements: A degree (bachelor’s or master’s) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience:
  • Minimum 6 years experience with a bachelor’s degree or 4 years with a master’s degree.
  • Proven expertise in cloud infrastructure, security applications, and network security tools (e.g., firewalls, IDS, antivirus).
• Language Requirements: Fluency in spoken and written English.

Desirable Skills

• Experience with Azure PaaS and IaaS SQL Server instances.
• Familiarity with secure coding practices and Jira/ Bitbucket.
• Proven ability to work effectively with minimal supervision and handle high-pressure tasks.
• Experience in customer-facing roles with a focus on delivering technical solutions.
