Tasks

Qualifications

Education and Certification

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) completed by the time of application.
  • Be eligible for Master’s studies in Germany based on academic background.

Language Proficiency

While German may be required for some Master’s programs, applicants should:

  • Provide proof of English or German language proficiency, depending on the language of instruction of the intended courses.
  • Enroll in a German language course (2 to 6 months) funded by DAAD if required.

Eligible Groups

The scholarship targets two groups of applicants from five designated countries:

  1. Refugees:
    • Must hold refugee status granted before April 2, 2023.
    • Must reside in Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, or Uganda.
    • Must have completed a Bachelor’s degree by the time of application.
  2. Nationals (non-refugee citizens):
    • Must be citizens and residents of Burundi, Kenya, Rwanda, South Sudan, or Uganda.
