Tasks

As a UNDP Digital Transformation Intern, your tasks may include the following across multiple focus areas:

Digital Ecosystem & Inclusion

  • Contribute to research on inclusive technology, digital rights, and AI ethics.
  • Help shape local digital infrastructure and community engagement strategies.
  • Support the creation of communication materials for blogs, social media, and reports.

Country Office and Government Support

  • Assist with national AI and data readiness assessments.
  • Support the development of government digital strategies and capacity-building tools.
  • Work on localization and rollout of UNDP’s digital products.

Strategy Implementation & Internal Systems

  • Analyze progress on UNDP’s digital strategy using quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Prepare internal briefings, speeches, and research summaries for leadership.
  • Support internal knowledge platforms and coordination between teams.

Business Operations

  • Aid with UNDP recruitment, procurement, and internal event coordination.
  • Maintain compliance documentation and support reporting on resourcing plans.
  • Improve internal workflows by identifying inefficiencies and recommending solutions.

Strategic Communications & Partnerships

  • Research new tech-focused partners and write outreach proposals.
  • Assist in planning events, writing press briefs, and compiling reports.
  • Create engaging content for newsletters, media outlets, and internal channels.

Product & AI Tool Development

  • Assist in designing and testing UNDP apps and digital tools.
  • Work with developers and product managers on project implementation.
  • Collaborate with global teams for delivery in real-world settings.

Organizational Change

  • Help manage internal knowledge-sharing platforms and communications.
  • Support the adoption of new digital tools by staff and country offices.
  • Design templates, email campaigns, and event materials for digital transformation.

Qualifications

Education and Certification

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Be enrolled in a graduate (Master’s or equivalent) program.
  • Be in the final year of a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Be a recent graduate (within the last 12 months).

Experience

  • Prior exposure to digital strategy, public policy, data analysis, or technology is desirable.
  • Excellent writing, collaboration, and communication skills are essential.
  • Interest or experience in digital inclusion, governance, or AI is an added advantage.

Additional Information

  • Internship Duration: 3 months (with flexible start dates)
  • Format: Fully remote
  • Compensation: Monthly stipend provided (based on location)
