Your Role and Responsibilities

As a Communications Intern, you will become an integral part of the GET.transform team, contributing to impactful communications that highlight the programme’s mission and achievements. Your key tasks will include:

  1. Content Development:
    • Assist in creating diverse communication materials such as factsheets, presentations, videos, and illustrations.
    • Draft compelling content tailored for various channels, including website articles, newsletters, and social media posts.
  2. Project Support:
    • Contribute to project management activities, such as convening internal meetings, updating lists, and taking minutes.
    • Conduct research and analysis on energy-related topics, including renewable energy, gender, and job creation in Africa.
  3. Visual and Creative Tasks:
    • Research and procure imagery from databases or assist in editing image materials.
    • Liaise with service providers for tasks like web design and printing.
  4. Strategic Communication:
    • Develop high-quality content that resonates with diverse audiences, including policymakers, private sector stakeholders, and the general public.

What Makes You the Perfect Candidate?

To excel in this role, you should meet the following qualifications and skillsets:

Education:

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a degree programme in Communications, Social or Political Sciences, Development/Energy Studies, or a related field (graduation must be within six months of internship start date).

Skills:

  • Essential:
    • Strong proficiency in MS Office (especially PowerPoint and Excel).
    • Excellent writing and communication skills in English.
  • Preferred:
    • Graphic design experience using tools like Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva.
    • Understanding of energy’s role in sustainable development and climate change mitigation.
    • Familiarity with energy contexts in Africa or Latin America.
    • Fluency in German, French, or Spanish is an asset.
