Human Rights Watch (HRW) is seeking a Grants Officer to support their Financial Planning & Analysis team. This flexible position offers the option to work remotely and may be based in various HRW office locations, including New York, Washington, Stockholm, Miami, London, Brussels, Amsterdam, Berlin, Nairobi, or Johannesburg. The successful candidate will collaborate with the FP&A team and other departments to ensure effective management of grants.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop donor grant budgets and monitor grant performance.

  • Assist with grant financial management and donor inquiries.

  • Track expenditures, milestones, and reporting deadlines.

  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and report standards.

  • Contribute to budget planning and financial data analysis.

  • Support the development of financial policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in finance, accounting, or related fields.

  • 3+ years of direct finance experience, including grants management and nonprofit/NGO finance.

  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, budgeting, and financial analysis.

  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and database systems.

  • Excellent time-management, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Salary & Benefits:

  • Salary Range (US-based): USD $62,000–$68,000 per year, plus benefits.

  • Salary ranges outside of the US vary based on location. Specific salary information will be provided during the recruitment process.
