Open Positions & Tasks
1. Consultant – Human Rights Implications of AI-Generated CSAM
This role supports Amnesty’s Tech Programme and focuses on developing a policy briefing around AI-generated child sexual abuse material (CSAM). The consultant will:
- Draft a taxonomy of AI-generated CSAM types
- Explore human rights and legal issues around virtual child content
- Review legal instruments such as OPSC, EU AI Act, and others
- Propose actions for governments, tech companies, and civil society
Duration: Timeline agreed with consultant
Salary: Up to £15,000 GBP
2. Consultant – Tax and Rising Authoritarianism
This consultancy supports Amnesty’s Climate and ESJ programme by examining how tax abuse contributes to authoritarian practices and human rights violations. Key deliverables include:
- Analysis of 6–10 global case studies linking tax injustice and authoritarianism
- Literature review of public opinion on taxation
- Recommendations for campaign, research, and advocacy strategies
Timeline: July–October 2025
Salary: Competitive, confirmed with selected consultant
3. Regional Consultant – Climate Justice in South Asia
Amnesty is launching a Climate Justice & Equality Programme and seeks a regional scoping consultant to guide its South Asia strategy. The work includes:
- Analysis of the climate justice landscape in eight South Asian countries
- Stakeholder mapping and consultations
- Drafting a regional theory of change with advocacy priorities
Duration: 7th July – 31st August 2025
Salary: Up to $6,000 USD
Qualifications
Education and Certification
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in human rights, law, public policy, climate justice, or related fields
Experience
- Minimum of 5–7 years of relevant research, advocacy, or policy experience
- Proven expertise in fields such as:
- CSAM and online child safety
- Taxation and governance
- Climate change and regional strategy
- Experience conducting stakeholder consultations, literature reviews, or legal analyses
- Strong writing and data analysis skills
