MAKE AN IMPACT WHERE IT COUNTS
UNESCO, in close collaboration with the Whitaker Peace & Development Initiative (WPDI), is looking for a Consultant to lead Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) efforts for its dynamic peacebuilding programmes. This consultancy is key to strengthening results-driven programming aimed at promoting youth and women in peacebuilding across South Sudan, Uganda, South Africa, and other project countries.
🔍 KEY FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE
As M&E Officer, you will:

Implement and enhance monitoring, evaluation and reporting tools

Support country field teams across 18 project locations (Africa, North America, Europe)

Collect, validate, and present high-quality data for internal and donor reporting
-
Draft clear and insightful reports to guide strategic decision-making
-
Extract and document best practices and lessons learned
-
Provide guidance to field staff on reporting and M&E frameworks
✅ REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
-
Master’s degree (preferred) in Social Sciences, Statistics, Public/Non-Profit Management, or related fields
Experience:
-
At least 2 years of relevant professional experience in development, monitoring, or evaluation
Skills:
-
Strong writing, editing, and analytical skills
-
Proficiency in data analysis and visualization tools
-
Excellent time management and organizational skills
-
Strong interpersonal and team collaboration skills in a multicultural environment
-
Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
➕ DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS

Working knowledge of French and/or Spanish
-
Experience with M&E in international or United Nations settings
-
Familiarity with peacebuilding or youth-focused programmes
