About the Role
Oxfam collaborates closely with the European Union and United Nations agencies, key institutional donors that support our global programs. This partnership is managed through three dedicated teams:
🔹 European Commission Development Partnerships (INTPA/Mediterranean/FPI & other EU agencies)
🔹 EU Humanitarian Directorate-General (ECHO)
🔹 UN Humanitarian Agencies (WFP, UNHCR, OCHA, UNICEF)
Based in Oxfam’s EU advocacy office in Brussels, the EU Partnership Assistant will support the Partnership Managers and the Institutional Funding team in strengthening these collaborations. The role focuses on:
✅ Donor Monitoring & Engagement: Tracking policies, funding opportunities, and ensuring Oxfam’s active participation in donor consultations.
✅ Fundraising Coordination: Identifying new funding prospects, streamlining application processes, and strengthening internal knowledge on donor requirements.
✅ Account Management: Supporting strategic partnership planning, facilitating team meetings, and maintaining partnership knowledge management.
✅ Administrative Support: Assisting in the smooth operation of the OI EU advocacy office.

Background & Job Description
Oxfam, a global organization fighting poverty and injustice, seeks a Gender Justice Support Intern to advance gender equality initiatives under its TAP 2 project. This role supports policy implementation, advocacy, and program coordination across Sub-Saharan Africa, with a focus on Southern Africa or Kenya. The intern will collaborate with internal teams and external partners to drive gender justice efforts, reporting directly to the Senior Gender Advisor.

- Location: Flexible within Africa (preference for Kenya/Southern Africa).

Qualifications
Education & Certification:
- Enrolled in or recently graduated from a program in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, International Development, or related fields.
Experience:
- Interest in gender justice, advocacy, or humanitarian work (prior internship/NGO experience a plus).
- Strong organizational skills for multitasking in fast-paced environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Additional Requirements:
- Legal right to work in the host country (Oxfam does not sponsor visas/relocation).
- Fluency in English; French or local languages (e.g., Swahili) advantageous.
