Background & Job Description
UNICEF, one of the world’s most recognized humanitarian organizations, is seeking a Remote Consultant for its Caring for Child Survivors of Sexual Abuse program. This consultancy supports UNICEF’s ongoing global efforts to prevent and respond to gender-based violence in emergencies (GBViE)—especially sexual abuse affecting children in conflict and crisis zones.
The selected candidate will work under the Child Protection Team – Programme Division (New York HQ) but will perform the role entirely remotely, with possible travel to emergency-affected regions. The position runs from July 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026.
This consultancy is ideal for professionals with a background in GBV programming and experience with technical guidance, training development, and inter-agency coordination.
Tasks
1. Disseminate the CCS (Caring for Child Survivors) Resource Package
- Support a second global initiative to launch CCS in a new UN language (French, Arabic, or Spanish).
- Engage at least 4 countries and deliver step-down trainings by women-led organizations.
- Manage quarterly global CCS Partners Network meetings.
2. Develop New CCS Resources
- Help develop two new e-learning modules and translate them into at least 4 languages.
- Pilot CCS e-learning in four countries.
3. Contribute to GBViE Technical Products
- Review and comment on at least 8 global GBViE service delivery products.
- Help publish new technical documents on UNICEF platforms.
Qualifications
Education and Certification
- Advanced University Degree (Master’s) in Public Health, Social Work, Human Rights, International Law, or a related field.
Experience
- 8–10 years of program management, including 5+ years in GBV humanitarian contexts.
- Strong knowledge of Caring for Child Survivors (CCS) resources.
- Experience with GBV case management, e-learning tool development, and remote capacity building.
- Fluency in English and French is required; Spanish or Arabic is a plus.
Additional Information
- This is a remote role, but may require travel to humanitarian settings.
- Candidates must have current health insurance.
- Payment will be made upon satisfactory deliverables.
- The consultant must upload academic credentials and submit a financial proposal with costs per deliverable.
