About the Role

CGD Europe is looking for motivated individuals to join its Research Assistant/Programme Coordinator talent pipeline. While this is not an immediate vacancy, candidates who meet the qualifications will be considered for future openings and contacted accordingly.

This role is designed for highly analytical, organized, and policy-driven individuals eager to contribute to cutting-edge research and policy development. The position offers a blend of research, data analysis, project management, and administrative responsibilities, making it ideal for early-career professionals considering future graduate studies or policy careers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support collaborative research projects through data collection, statistical analysis, and literature reviews.
  • Assist in drafting policy papers, reports, and blogs related to CGD’s core research areas.
  • Manage grants, financial records, and program operations, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
  • Coordinate and support high-profile events, workshops, and policy discussions.
  • Maintain relationships with stakeholders, policymakers, and external partners to advance CGD’s research impact.
  • Conduct background research and synthesize findings on key global development issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Economics, International Development, Political Science, Public Policy, or related fields.
  • Strong research, analytical, and writing skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, demonstrating flexibility and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools and software (e.g., Stata, R, Python) is a plus.
  • Prior internship or research experience in policy, economic analysis, or international development.
  • Right to live and work in the United Kingdom (CGD cannot sponsor work authorization).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree holders may apply but should be open to an entry-level role with administrative tasks.
  • Quantitative analysis skills and experience in data analytics or programming.
  • Familiarity with policy impact assessments and development economics.
  • Experience working, traveling, or conducting research in low- and middle-income countries.
