About the Role
The Senior Program Officer (SPO) will play a crucial role in launching the Reinvented Toilet industry in China. This innovation is a non-sewered sanitation system that eliminates pathogens in human waste without requiring a water pipe or sewer connection. The SPO will lead regulatory, certification, and permitting efforts to enable widespread market adoption.
This position is vital in developing market strategies, coordinating with commercial partners, and influencing regulations to ensure the success of these sanitation innovations in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for Reinvented Toilets in China.
- Engage industry partners, including manufacturers, distributors, and government agencies.
- Influence policy, regulations, and standards to support sanitation innovation.
- Lead market research, pricing studies, and customer insights to guide product development.
- Identify and overcome barriers to market adoption.
- Work with international teams to coordinate global strategy execution.
- Manage a team of consultants to facilitate industry development activities.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in business administration, engineering, or related fields.
- 10+ years of experience in market development, go-to-market strategies, and product commercialization.
- Expertise in product launches in China, including regulatory compliance.
- Experience in successfully introducing a new product category to an emerging market.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience managing complex projects.
- Proficiency in Chinese and English languages is mandatory.
- Ability to travel up to 30% internationally and domestically.
