About the Sustainable Financing Initiative

UNDP Bangladesh’s Initiation Plan for Sustainable Financing runs until May 2026, aiming to align public and private finance with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Inclusive Budgeting and Financing for Climate Resilience (IBFCR) Phase II strengthens institutions to make budgets climate-responsive.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Institutionalizing climate finance governance

  • Enhancing transparency and risk disclosure

  • Developing tools for tracking and auditing climate-sensitive projects


Your Key Responsibilities

Climate Risk Reporting and Transparency:

  • Design frameworks for climate risk disclosure.

  • Support ministries in integrating climate risk into reporting processes.

  • Develop inclusive climate risk disclosure reports.

Climate Finance Auditing:

  • Evaluate climate-related public spending through performance audits.

  • Collaborate with the OCAG to modernize audit methodologies.

  • Develop KPIs for climate audit assessments.

Institutional Strengthening & Capacity Building:

  • Lead training workshops for stakeholders.

  • Strengthen technical capabilities of financial managers and auditors.

  • Promote ownership of updated audit tools.


What You Need to Succeed

Education Requirements:

  • Preferred: Master’s degree in relevant fields.

  • Accepted: Bachelor’s degree + 2 years of relevant experience.

Experience Requirements:

  • Master’s graduates: No work experience required.

  • Bachelor’s holders: Minimum 2 years’ experience in climate-related disclosures or auditing.

Desired Expertise:

  • Knowledge of climate-social-environmental risk disclosure.

  • Experience in public financial management.

  • Familiarity with climate finance frameworks.
