Background

The Project Research Associate will support the Initiation Plan for Sustainable Financing, an initiative aimed at advancing UNDP’s work on sustainable financing across key government agencies and non-government organizations. This initiative focuses on integrating climate resilience into Bangladesh’s budgeting and financing systems, ensuring that climate considerations are mainstreamed into public finance management.

Responsibilities

The Project Research Associate will:

  • Conduct and support research activities aligned with project objectives, including data gathering, analysis, and synthesis.

  • Assist in collecting data for climate finance strategies and frameworks, supporting the update of climate public finance tracking methodologies.

  • Analyze global and local best practices in climate finance and public financial management.

  • Draft surveys and questionnaires related to climate finance tracking.

  • Coordinate with stakeholders and maintain a stakeholder database for climate finance.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree or High School Certificate with relevant experience (3-6 years).
Experience: Minimum of 3 years in environmental science or related fields, with practical experience in research activities.
Skills: Proficiency in MS Office, data analysis, and experience in organizing workshops and training sessions.

Role 2: Project Associate – Research and Policy Support (2 POSITIONS)

Background

This role will involve conducting research, supporting project implementation, and engaging with stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of policy dialogues and consultations.

Responsibilities

The Project Associate will:

  • Draft Terms of Reference (ToRs) and assist in assessing consultants for commissioned studies.

  • Organize policy dialogues and multi-stakeholder consultations for disseminating research findings.

Qualifications
