Job Description:
The UNDP’s Information and Technology Management (ITM) unit in Copenhagen is offering an exciting opportunity for a Software Developer Intern. As an intern, you will contribute directly to UNDP’s global mission, working in a dynamic environment and supporting Country Offices worldwide with ICT and Green Energy solutions.
This internship provides a hands-on experience in developing and enhancing business process automation tools, online collaboration platforms, and cloud-based applications. You will be tasked with:
- Supporting tools and solutions for collaboration within UNDP offices (using platforms such as SharePoint and Office 365)
- Assisting in creating and improving business intelligence dashboards with PowerBI and Microsoft PowerApps
- Analyzing and visualizing project data using Excel, PowerBI, and other BI tools
- Participating in developing and refining software tools that support Green Energy Projects
The internship is a great opportunity for students or recent graduates to apply their academic knowledge to real-world challenges and make a tangible impact on global development initiatives.

Required Skills and Experience:
- Education: Applicants must be enrolled in a postgraduate degree or in their final academic year of a first degree in fields like Software Engineering, Computer Science, or Electrical Engineering.
- Experience: Previous experience in IT, software development, or related fields is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft cloud technologies (Office 365, SharePoint Online, Azure)
- Experience with web-based development (PHP, JavaScript, .NET)
- Knowledge of Data Science principles and hands-on experience with scripting languages such as Python
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools (PowerBI, Excel, etc.)
- Knowledge of DevOps and Continuous Integration processes
Conditions:
- Stipend: A stipend to cover daily expenses (USD 1,000 for in-person internships) is provided.
- Insurance: Interns must arrange their own health insurance.
- Visa and Travel: Interns are responsible for obtaining necessary visas and arranging travel.
