💼 Position Summary
As Manager (P-5), you will:

Lead the Regulatory Framework Implementation Subdivision, guiding the development and implementation of technical and policy standards related to the Paris Agreement Crediting Mechanism (PACM) and cooperative approaches under Article 6.

Provide strategic advice to UNFCCC bodies, including the Supervisory Body, the CDM Executive Board, and national governments.

Supervise multi-disciplinary teams, drive cross-divisional collaboration, and ensure high-quality support to intergovernmental processes.

Represent the UNFCCC at international forums, panels, and conferences, including delivering keynote addresses.
✅ Key Responsibilities

Oversee the development of climate policy instruments including methodologies, tools, and regulatory standards.

Manage evaluation of submissions from project developers and applicant entities.

Ensure regulatory quality management and align operations with climate frameworks.

Provide strategic guidance and support negotiations under the Paris Agreement.

Lead knowledge sharing, process improvement, and organizational change initiatives.
🧠 Required Qualifications
🎓 Education

Advanced university degree (Master’s or equivalent) in natural or social sciences, environmental sciences, engineering, economics, or related disciplines.

A first-level degree with two additional years of experience may be accepted.
📊 Experience
-
Minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in climate change, strategic planning, or intergovernmental processes.

At least 2 years of experience managing professional teams.

3+ years in an international work environment is essential.
🗣️ Language

Fluency in English (written and oral) is required.

Knowledge of another UN language is an asset.

💰 Salary and Benefits

Base salary: Approx. US$ 101,540/year

Post adjustment: ~32% (subject to UN rates)
