Position Overview
UNFPA invites students and recent graduates to apply for its 2025 Global Internship Programme, offering the chance to contribute to UNFPA’s mission of ensuring every pregnancy is wanted, every childbirth is safe, and every young person’s potential is fulfilled. This program aligns with UNFPA’s Strategic Plan (2022-2025) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on ending preventable maternal deaths, unmet needs for family planning, and gender-based violence.

Eligibility Requirements
Educational Requirements
Candidates must meet one of the following criteria:
- Currently enrolled in a university degree program (e.g., bachelor’s degree or equivalent) and have completed at least one academic year.
- Currently enrolled in a postgraduate degree program (e.g., master’s or higher).
- Recently graduated with a university degree (bachelor’s or postgraduate). Internships must commence within one year of graduation.
- Enrolled in a postgraduate professional trainee program and performing the internship as part of that program.
Additional Requirements
- Interest in development work and UNFPA’s areas of focus.
- Proficiency in at least one UN working language (English or French). Fluency in other official UN languages (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish) of the UNFPA office is desirable.
- Adaptability to new environments and ability to work effectively with diverse cultural backgrounds.
- No immediate family members (father, mother, sibling, child) employed by UNFPA.

Financial Support
- Interns not receiving external financial support (e.g., from academic institutions or governments) may be eligible for a stipend.
- The stipend is intended to contribute towards living expenses and is based on the intern’s agreed place of work (remote or in-person).
- Stipends are paid monthly in local currency.
