About the UNITAR Multilateral Diplomacy Programme (MDPU)
The Multilateral Diplomacy Programme Unit (MDPU) at UNITAR develops and delivers high-quality training programs in partnership with governments, universities, and international organizations. The program focuses on strengthening multilateral diplomacy and international cooperation through face-to-face and online training sessions.
This traineeship offers exposure to two key training formats:
- Field Visits: 1-2 week immersive experiences in Geneva, featuring expert lectures, guided tours, UN agency visits, workshops, and networking opportunities.
- Online Training Programmes: Virtual training courses lasting 2-4 weeks, conducted via UNITAR’s e-learning platform, incorporating live webinars, virtual guided tours, and interactive modules.
Trainee Responsibilities
As a trainee, you will assist in the planning and execution of Field Visits and Online Training Programmes, mostly scheduled for July and August 2025. Your responsibilities will include:
- Logistics Coordination: Organizing documents, liaising with partner institutions, and arranging participant arrivals.
- Event Facilitation: Supporting live training sessions, both in-person and online.
- Content Management: Assisting with e-learning platform updates and training material development.
- Outreach & Communications: Engaging with stakeholders to promote training programs.

Eligibility Criteria

- Be familiar with online training programs, events, or field visit organization.
- Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the UN system and international affairs.
- Show adherence to UN values such as cooperation, respect, and solidarity.
Preferred Skills:
- Digital marketing and social media expertise.
- Strong networks to potential program partners and participants.
- Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (an asset but not required).
