About the UNITAR Multilateral Diplomacy Programme (MDPU)

The Multilateral Diplomacy Programme Unit (MDPU) at UNITAR develops and delivers high-quality training programs in partnership with governments, universities, and international organizations. The program focuses on strengthening multilateral diplomacy and international cooperation through face-to-face and online training sessions.

This traineeship offers exposure to two key training formats:

Field Visits: 1-2 week immersive experiences in Geneva, featuring expert lectures, guided tours, UN agency visits, workshops, and networking opportunities.
Online Training Programmes: Virtual training courses lasting 2-4 weeks, conducted via UNITAR’s e-learning platform, incorporating live webinars, virtual guided tours, and interactive modules.

Trainee Responsibilities

As a trainee, you will assist in the planning and execution of Field Visits and Online Training Programmes, mostly scheduled for July and August 2025. Your responsibilities will include:

Logistics Coordination: Organizing documents, liaising with partner institutions, and arranging participant arrivals.
Event Facilitation: Supporting live training sessions, both in-person and online.
Content Management: Assisting with e-learning platform updates and training material development.
Outreach & Communications: Engaging with stakeholders to promote training programs.

Eligibility Criteria

Be familiar with online training programs, events, or field visit organization.
Have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
Demonstrate knowledge of the UN system and international affairs.

Strong networks to potential program partners and participants.
Proficiency in Mandarin Chinese (an asset but not required).
