Why AMR Matters Now More Than Ever
Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is one of the top ten global public health threats today. Misuse and overuse of antibiotics, combined with limited access to appropriate treatment, have given rise to drug-resistant pathogens—challenging how the world treats infections and diseases.
Health workers—especially pharmacists and nurses—are critical in preventing AMR. But in many countries, health curricula are outdated or do not include adequate AMR training. WHO is tackling this through competency frameworks and curriculum reform efforts.
This consultancy directly supports that mission: improving how pharmacy students are trained to prevent and respond to AMR.
