Commonwealth Shared Scholarships 2027/2028: Fully Funded Master’s Scholarships in the UK
The Commonwealth Shared Scholarships 2027/2028 offer an exciting opportunity for talented students from eligible Commonwealth countries to pursue fully funded Master’s degrees at participating universities in the United Kingdom.
Funded by the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), the programme supports outstanding students who demonstrate academic potential and a commitment to contributing to the development of their home countries.
The scholarships are designed for individuals who would not otherwise have the financial means to study in the UK. Successful candidates receive full tuition fee coverage, a monthly living allowance, return international airfare and additional study-related support.
The awards normally cover 12 months of full-time postgraduate study, beginning in September or October 2027.
Applications for the 2027/2028 academic year open on 10 November 2026 and close on 8 December 2026 at 16:00 GMT.
About the Commonwealth Shared Scholarships
The Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the UK (CSC) administers the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship programme as part of the Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan.
The programme aims to strengthen the development capacity of eligible Commonwealth countries by supporting talented individuals to acquire advanced knowledge, professional skills and leadership capabilities.
Unlike some other Commonwealth scholarship programmes, applications are made through participating UK universities offering approved Master’s courses.
Universities identify and nominate suitable candidates, after which the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission confirms their eligibility.
The programme focuses on applicants who have the potential to make a meaningful contribution to sustainable development when they return home.

Commonwealth Shared Scholarships provide comprehensive financial assistance, including:
