The World Health Organization (WHO) is inviting applications for an International Consultant – Project Manager (Pandemic Fund Grants) to support the implementation of Multi-Country and Single-Country Pandemic Fund grants.

About the Consultancy
WHO is seeking an experienced Project Manager to coordinate Pandemic Fund grants, ensuring projects are implemented efficiently, comply with donor requirements, and achieve their intended public health outcomes.
The consultant will work closely with WHO technical teams, government counterparts, implementing partners, and international stakeholders to oversee grant implementation, quality assurance, financial monitoring, reporting, and governance.

Key Responsibilities
The successful consultant will:
- Coordinate implementation of Pandemic Fund grants.
- Manage grant workplans, budgets, and deliverables.
- Coordinate with governments and implementing partners.
- Lead quality assurance and compliance reviews.
- Monitor financial performance and grant disbursements.
- Oversee contracts, purchase orders, and grant documentation.
- Prepare technical and financial reports.
- Develop implementation dashboards and tracking systems.
- Support governance meetings and donor reporting.
- Identify and mitigate programme risks.
Required Qualifications
Applicants should have:
- A Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Systems Management, Project Management, Business Administration, Finance, Health Economics, Epidemiology, International Development, or a related field.
- At least 7 years of experience in project management, programme coordination, grant management, or public health programmes.
- Experience managing donor-funded programmes.
- Strong monitoring, reporting, compliance, and financial management skills.
- Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication abilities.
Experience with WHO, the Pandemic Fund, Gavi, the Global Fund, World Bank, or other international donor programmes is considered an advantage.
Travel
The consultant may undertake official travel within South Africa and internationally for programme implementation, partner reviews, monitoring missions, governance meetings, workshops, and stakeholder consultations.
