About the Role

The Program Officer will oversee complex international real estate transactions supporting the World Bank’s worldwide operations.

The position involves managing the full transaction lifecycle, including market analysis, lease negotiations, acquisitions, renewals, property due diligence, governance approvals, contract execution, and landlord relationships.

Working closely with legal, finance, security, and regional teams, the successful candidate will ensure that global real estate strategies align with organizational priorities while delivering cost-effective and sustainable workplace solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing international real estate transactions from planning to completion.
  • Coordinating property acquisitions, lease renewals, relocations, expansions, and terminations.
  • Conducting due diligence and financial assessments.
  • Negotiating lease agreements and commercial contracts.
  • Providing strategic real estate advice to senior leadership.
  • Monitoring market trends and workplace innovations.
  • Managing relationships with landlords, developers, and external consultants.
  • Supporting governance processes and compliance requirements.
  • Collaborating with legal, finance, security, and regional teams.
  • Preparing reports, presentations, and strategic recommendations.

Eligibility Requirements

Applicants should possess:

  • A Master’s degree in Business Administration, Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, Facilities Management, or a related discipline.
  • At least five years of relevant professional experience.
  • Extensive experience managing international commercial real estate transactions.
  • Strong project management and analytical skills.
  • Experience negotiating commercial leases and contracts.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project.
  • Fluency in English.

Knowledge of French or Spanish is considered an advantage.

Preferred Qualifications
