Background & Program Description
The Learn, Engage, Advance, Disrupt (LEAD) Fellowship was launched by the Harvard Global Health Institute and the Department of Global Health and Population at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health to strengthen women’s leadership in global health. The fellowship recognizes that advancing gender equity and health outcomes requires diverse, well-supported leaders who bring fresh ideas and cultural insight to the field.
Over the course of one year, the fellowship offers a transformative leadership development experience for women who are already making meaningful contributions in their communities. Fellows gain the time, mentorship, and academic support to reflect, expand their professional networks, and shape their long-term leadership vision.
To date, LEAD Fellows have come from 18 countries across Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe, and South America, with backgrounds in areas such as HIV/AIDS, health systems strengthening, reproductive health, and public policy.
